Florida State Shocks All Landing At No. 2 In The BCS Standings, Behind The Alabama Crimson Tide.

Before the “College Football Playoff” starts next season in 2014, there had to be some controversy in the last year of the BCS. Florida State had arguably the biggest game of the year on paper for the ACC, in their 51-14 blowout over the Clemson Tigers last night. We expected the Seminoles to receive some computer love tonight, but not overtake both Oregon and Ohio State. In the Coaches Polls and Associated Press, the Ducks are ranked 2 in both; but the Seminoles victory last night was so impressive against the Tigers, they managed to overtake the field behind the obvious Alabama Crimson Tide.

The Ohio State Buckeyes have 19 consecutive regular season wins; with only Michigan being their only ranked match-up left this season, so a National Title bid for them seems unlikely. Although Oregon is ranked below Florida State at the moment, they have key meetings against UCLA and Stanford over the next two weeks to improve their standings in the BCS. The season essentially comes down to whether Florida State can defeat the Miami Hurricanes in a statement win on the road for their November 2nd showdown.

Alabama has upcoming meetings against LSU and Auburn, but are the favorites to win both of the games. Follow after the jump to view the full first BCS Rankings.
