rookie defense in full effect!
Nerlens Noel might have sat out all last season, but he’s here to quiet the doubters in his first official year in the NBA. The rookie might be on a Philadelphia 76ers team that is head to the lottery again, but he’ll do his part to bring that back-to-back Rookie of the Year award to the city of brotherly love.
Last night against the Houston Rockets, Nerlens showed out with some defense, getting a driving James Harden completely out of the paint with a monster block. After Harden got past his defender, he thought he could go up for the thunderous finish, but he met Noel at the basket and was denied ferociously. That’s what happens when you go up against a 6’11 beast.
Unfortunately, the Sixers had no chance in the outcome, losing 104-93 to the Rockets and continuing their tanking for lottery picks season. It’ll be a long year Philly.
