Just a few weeks after landing a three-year, $6.9M dollar contract with the New York Jets; running-back Mike Goodson landed himself behind bars this morning with drug and illegal firearm possession. According to New Jersey enforcement, Goodson was passenger in a GMC Yukon with associate Garant Evans behind the wheel.

They were seen on Route 80 in the Denville section of NJ, which a local tow truck driver spotted them in the left center lane and immediately notified authorities. The two were arrested for “suspicion of possession of marijuana with less than 50 grams of drug paraphernalia in their possession; and on top of that, a loaded handgun containing hollow-point bullets. Evans, who already had prior felony convictions and traffic summonses, was arrested with the same charges as Goodson along with a DUI charge.

Both Mike and Garant were taken to Morristown jail, where Goodson was held on $50,000 bail. Whether he’s been released yet remains to be seen; but without football Sunday’s, Ray Lewis never lied.
