New York Knicks Hire Jeff Hornacek As Head Coach

With a handful of teams in the NBA still looking for a head coach to lead them into next season, there has been a lot of criticism at Phil Jackson and the New York Knicks lately.

For one, it didn’t seem like Phil wanted to even give guys like Tom Thibodeau and Scott Brooks the time of day. Then he went on vacation in the middle of the search, with people assuming he did that because he already had his candidate in place: Kurt Rambis.

Now out of left field, it turns out Jeff Hornacek is going to lead the KNICKSTAPE franchise to hopeful prosperity starting in 2016-2017.

Hornacek only lasted two seasons with the Phoenix Suns before he was booted in February after tumultuous seasons that saw the front office trade the likes of Goran Dragic and Isaiah Thomas (as well as suffering an Eric Bledsoe injury), but it seems like he has impressed GM Jackson enough to get the job for the foreseeable future.

Hornacek’s career record holds at 101-112 and has proven that he could turn a lottery team around with the right pieces. The only question is how much of Phil’s triangle offense will be implemented and how good they can be on defense.

Hey Knicks fans, at least it wasn’t Rambis.
