NFC Divisional Playoffs: Green Bay/San Francisco Preview

Green Bay at San Francisco
Time: 8:00 PM (ET) | Today
Network: FOX

The Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers are playing arguably the most anticipated game of the weekend. It’s really a tossup between the two, with the football world not so sold yet on Colin Kaepernick and doubt about the not-so-sure Aaron Rogers, going head to head with the best defense in football.

The Packers are fresh off their wild-card weekend victory at home over the Minnesota Vikings, where Aaron Rodgers threw for nearly 300 yards, as the Green Bay defense held Adrian Peterson to under 100-yards. Rodgers now returns home to Bay Area to face his childhood team growing up, as he’ll do everything in his will to make it to the NFC championship game next week.

On the flip side, Kaepernick is from Wisconsin and used to be a big fan of the Packers as well, which sets up an interesting story in two childhood NFL fans going up against their hometown teams. Charles Woodson, who came back last week for his first game in nearly 2 months, will have the hardest task today, of slowing down Michael Crabtree, who’s become Colin’s favorite target connecting for over 500 yards.

Green Bay is 4-1 against the 49ers (all time in the postseason), but with Alex Smith patrolling the sidelines, a win here today could propel them into an the imminent Super Bowl ticket in New Orleans, with Tunechi and family waiting.

The winner of this game is the sure shot to make it to the Super Bowl, with lack of faith in the Falcons and Seattle’s inexperience. You could look at this game as the unofficial NFC championship game, leaning towards picking the 49ers, but a win from Green Bay would not be surprising.

FINAL: GB 31 | SF 45
