UPDATE: Seahawks win 23-17
Much like the AFC, these are two teams we can all agree that everyone expected to meet in the NFC Championship. During the regular season, the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks played twice with each of the home teams pulling away with a victory.
In their week 2 match-up the 49ers played their worst game of the season in a 29-3 blowout loss, but were without some of their key weapons. They got revenge squeaking past Seattle at home a few weeks ago, but heading back into CenturyLink Field tonight will give San Francisco flashback nightmares of week two. The Seahawks have arguably the best home crowd in all of sports, and a trip back to the Super Bowl is something their Seattle would love for the city’s most beloved franchise. They’ve went all out to even get Macklemore and Ryan Lewis to perform during the halftime but the main focus will be on the gridiron.
The Seahawks will be without their star Percy Harvin, which will immediately hurt them due to their lack of offensive efficiency in recent weeks. If there’s any team to win during the playoffs in Seattle, it’s the San Francisco 49ers due to their extremely high confidence at the moment and momentum. Seattle will definitely not be a pushover team, as the 49ers will be playing their fourth consecutive road and will be looking to be the first ever team to head to the Super Bowl with no home playoff games. With both teams having arguably the two best defenses in the entire league, the game will be centered on the offensive side of things.
We know each defense can stop their opposing team, but it will make for big pressure on both Russell Wilson and Colin Kaepernick.
