NFL Free Agents That Will Make Big Impact With New Teams

Big Free Agents Primed to Underwhelm

Julius Thomas, TE, Jacksonville Jaguars
Julius Thomas proved to be a definitive threat during his time with Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos, but he’s doing to have a tough time maintaining that moniker now that he’s a Jaguar. He doesn’t nearly have as much talent around him, and will be drawing more double teams because of it.

Also, he’s going to be going from Peyton Manning to who? Blake Bortles? Chad Henne? LOL, c’mon. The dip in talent at quarterback alone will devastate Thomas’ previously eye-catching numbers. Word to Eric Decker in New York, who took the money and left Denver a year prior.

Overall, he’s just not set up to succeed in Jacksonville.

Greg Hardy, DE, Dallas Cowboys
This is probably an unpopular opinion, but we just don’t see Greg Hardy doing that well in Dallas. He’s definitely a talented player that won’t ever be a downfall of the defense, but we don’t believe he’ll be the star they’re hoping for.

They’re gonna try and make him their new DeMarcus Ware, and that’s just not gonna happen. Hardy is nice, but he’s simply not on Ware’s level—but, to be fair, few defenders are.

Even so, we might not see many fireworks for Hardy as a Cowboy.

Frank Gore, RB, Indianapolis Colts
Frank Gore has certainly been the class of the NFL at running back throughout his whole career, but his time as a dominant runner are over now that he’s in blue and white.

He’s going to be behind a much shoddier O-line than what he had as a 49er, and will have to carry the workload with very little help behind him. At this age, we just don’t think he can be a team’s entire rushing attack.

Gore won’t be a blemish on the Colts’ offense, but surely won’t be able to carry the team.
