It comes as no surprise, but the NFL has ruled that Johnny Manziel’s obscene gesture towards the Redskins bench in Monday night’s loss deserved a fine of $12,000.

Apparently, Johnny Football had exchanged words with the Washington players and made a bad judgement call at the time, which didn’t sit well with Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine. Although it wasn’t the outright factor, it certainly contributed to the decision of not making him the starting QB for the team to start the season.

As of the moment, there is no word on whether Manziel and his representatives will appeal the fine, but there’s little to contest, considering the league penalizes for incidents like this. Giving national TV the middle finger will get you fined, rookie.

“I felt like I did a good job of holding my composure throughout the night, and you have a lapse of judgment and slip up.”
