NFL Monday Night Recap: Giants/Lions | Chargers/Cardinals

San Diego at Arizona

Last year, the Arizona Cardinals finished with the fifth best record in the NFC, but weren’t able to make it to the post-season; due to division breakdown standing. While the team is looking to finally climb over the hump this year, they play host to the San Diego Chargers in their opener for the 2014 season. Still fighting in the toughest division in all of football being the NFC West, we expect the Cardinals to leap over the San Francisco 49ers this season in terms of win-percentage, with hopes of finally clinching a wild-card berth.

The team opens the year with an improved secondary featuring Patrick Peterson and Antonio Cromartie (without Tyrann Mathieu), Arizona will be looking to dominate the game on the defensive game, with their star RB Andre Ellington likely to be a game-time decision. The San Diego Chargers, who we expect to lose, are still a highly under-the-radar team this year that could surprise a few teams in the AFC. After obtaining a 9-7 record to make the playoffs in a competitive AFC West headlined by the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs, the Chargers will look to build momentum heading forward after a very tough opener tonight on the road.
