While the Denver Broncos may not necessarily be the most complete NFL team, they definitely have the league’s best offense. When Peyton Manning steps on the field, it’s no comparison to his talent offensively, which has many teams in the AFC worried headed into January’s postseason. Tonight, Denver plays their West division rival San Diego Chargers and a loss here tonight (which we expect) for the SoCal boys still won’t affect their playoff hopes, thanks to Joe Flacco. Denver’s defense has been shaky due to injuries and could get hit with an early, but we expect them to pull through in the end and keep distance from the Kansas City Chiefs.

UPDATE: Chargers upset Broncos in 27-20 victory. Watch highlights and recap after the jump!

Thursday night, the Denver Broncos were at home for an AFC West division rivalry game against the San Diego Chargers. Initially we thought (just like many “experts”) the Mile High team would have an easy victory, but we were all wrong. Denver opened the game with an impressive first drive down the field on a 15-yard pass from Peyton Manning to Andre Caldwell; but the Chargers would not be discouraged by the drive scoring two touchdowns in the following quarter, and not look back after their 17-0 lead. The Broncos would score on TD to begin the 4th quarter and make it a one possession game, but Nick Novak of San Diego would chip in a 35-yard FG to push their lead back to 10 and win the game. The Broncos are now tied in the loss column with the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs, while the San Diego is only a half-game back of the wild card jumping back to .500 at 7-7.

UPDATE: Three people were stabbed following the Denver Broncos game, one of which is in critical condition. Police say they were not looking for any more suspects, but a possible fourth victim may have been involved, but fled the scene.
