Houston at Jacksonville
Time: 8:25 PM (ET)
Network: NFL Network
We’re now sure how it’s possible the NFL could allow a primetime game featuring not only the AFC, but the two worst teams in the league to have a Thursday Night meeting. If you’re still trying to take in if this game is real for your NFL football fix tonight, you’re sadly not dreaming. The 2-10 Houston Texans travel down to Florida for meeting against the 3-9 Jacksonville Jaguars. Before the NFL season began, many were looking at the Texans as legitimate Super Bowl contenders for next February, but that’s become out of the question with the team dropping 10 consecutive losses. The Jaguars remain the only team in the NFL this season without a victory at home, as we expect that to change tonight.
Houston’s almost guaranteed to have the top pick in the 2014 NFL Draft and a loss tonight could inch them closer to achieving that. We’re not sure if the Jaguars will tank tonight’s game with a chance to have a respectable 2nd-half of the season winning 3 of their last 4 games; with a few more remaining before the month ends. We’ll most likely be watching the game on league pass tonight, but will monitor the score during Clippers and Grizzlies commercial breaks.
UPDATE: Jaguars Defeat Texans 27-20.
Watch game highlights after the jump along with a recap.
The Jacksonville Jaguars win their first home game in over a year plus, as the Texans lose their 11th in a row. We’re not surprised at the final outcome (obviously, if you read our preview), with the Jaguars withstanding the Texans big 2nd half rally. The Jaguars win their 3rd consecutive game improving to 4-9, but it wasn’t an easy one after Matt Schaub threw for nearly 200 yards, 1 touchdown and an interception (as usual). Houston now has an almost guarantee to obtain next year’s No. 1 Pick in the 2014 NFL draft.
