Big blow to the Philadelphia offense
Philadelphia Eagles starting quarterback Nick Foles exited the match this Sunday against the Houston Texans with an injury to his non-throwing shoulder. The came play at the end of the first quarter when Texans linebacker Whitney Mercilus pummeled him to the ground on a sack. He immediately left the game and went to the locker room, being replaced by backup Mark Sanchez.
Philadelphia’s schedule doesn’t give them any breathing room either since they enjoyed their bye week last month. Although their division rival Dallas Cowboys suffering injuries of their own, in particular Tony Romo, they still remain at top of the NFC East for the time being. Philadelphia now looks to Sanchez to lead them in the Chip Kelly system heading forward, following his stint yesterday against the Houston Texans.
Following an MRI earlier today, team doctors cited there was no surgery needed for Foles’ broken clavicle, but he would be sent home to rest for the foreseeable future.

This comes just days after the team found out linebacker DeMeco Ryans would be out for the season with an Achilles tear, so Philadelphia will need everyone to remain healthy if they want a shot at maintaining their playoff positioning.
With upcoming games against Carolina, Green Bay, Seattle, Dallas (twice) and a season closer on week 17 against the New York Giants, the Eagles road to the playoffs just got a little harder.
Following his MRI, #Eagles QB Nick Foles is out 6-8 weeks with collarbone fracture, source says. He won't need surgery on it, though
