Oklahoma City Deals Reggie Jackson to Detroit in Multi-Player Deal

San Antonio Spurs v Oklahoma City Thunder - Game Three

Shmurda Jackson is headed to the motor city

After expressing his disdain for staying with the Oklahoma City Thunder past this season, turning down the extension they offered, the team listened and sent him packing right before the trade deadline after he requested it. Jackson had his ups and downs this season with the Thunder, butting heads with coach Scott Brooks and losing playing time after the return of Russell Westbrook from injury and the acquiring of Dion Waiters through a trade a few weeks ago.

With a plethora of trades on deck (Brooklyn Nets wanted to deal Brook Lopez, the Indiana Pacers showed interest as well), the Thunder came to agreement with the Detroit Pistons, getting D.J. Augustine and Kyle Singler in return. The multi-team trade also brings Enes Kanter to Oklahoma City in a package that sends Kendrick Perkins to the Utah Jazz.

OKC now gains some much needed frontcourt help with Kanter and a backup point guard to help the team off the bench in Augustine, as they make a push for the 8th seed in the Western Conference. They are officially a wildcard to upset someone in the playoffs this year.
