Bad times out in Oklahoma City

The Oklahoma City Thunder are in the race for the 8th seed in the Western Conference but even with the stellar play of Russell Westbrook, the team has suffered road blocks along the way.

After their trades for Dion Waiters, Enes Kanter and D.J. Augustine, all signs were pointing for OKC to make a mean run in the second half of the season to possibly upset a high seed in the Western Conference come playoff time. Then Serge Ibaka had knee surgery and was out indefinitely. Now, one of their stars, Kevin Durant, is out indefinitely with foot problems.

Thunder general manager Sam Presti held a press conference to speak on Durant’s ailments, saying that his health is the team’s number one concern and for the moment, no timetable has been given for his return. If it takes the remainder of the regular season or playoffs, that’s what they’ll do. They’re leaning towards that way, though.

KD underwent surgery on February 23 in attempts to correct the soreness and discomfort in his foot that was caused by a screw inserted back in October to repair a Jones fracture, but the soreness continued when he returned to workouts and during practice.
