The 49ers had a very productive free agency period, as they brought in a safety to replace Donte Whitner and resigned WR Anquan Boldin. Their major additions came on the trade front though, as they acquired OT Jonathan Martin and QB Blaine Gabbert. Both players were in need of a fresh start, and the 49ers might be the perfect place for that.
