Jim Schwartz
It took five years, but Jim Schwartz is out as head coach of the Detroit Lions today. He took over a team that posted a 0-16 record and took the Lions to the playoffs but his last two seasons were losing ones. This season, Detroit was poised to be in control of the NFC North after Green Bay & Chicago suffered major injuries and could have posted a home playoff game, but the team lost six out of seven games to end the year.
Candidates for the Lions vacancy: The Cincinnati Bengals Jay Gruden, Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase.
