Our Favorite Allen Iverson Moments

Game 1 Of The 2001 NBA Finals

The early 2000s in the Easter Conference was a mere shadow of the elite teams out West in the likes of the Portland Trailblazers, Sacramento Kings, Minnesota Timberwolves and above with the Los Angeles Lakers. Allen Iverson single-handedly carried the Philadelphia 76ers to the NBA Finals during the 2001 season. Already having all-star MVP and league MVP honors for the season, he was looking to cap off the year with a Finals MVP trophy as well. Game 1 in Los Angeles saw arguably Iverson’s best performance in the bright lights of Hollywood including the infamous cross over game-winner where he stepped over guard Tyronn Lue. The 76ers would sadly lose the next 4 games in the series; but for the next 48 hours after game 1, we remembered being ecstatic about game 1 of the Finals, with hopes of seeing Iverson’s first ring.
