NBA Regular Season | Wizards 87, Knicks 86 | December 22, 2001
Jordan-Line: 26 Points
3 years later after his retirement, Jordan had one last itch in his physical capability of playing basketball at the age of 38. This time around, being a part owner of the Washington Wizards, Jordan would throw on the Blue jersey trying to inspire his team and give them confidence going forward in their careers. The most exciting thing in sports for us was seeing M.J. come to town and play the NY Knicks.
In his final appearance at Madison Square Garden, Jordan would not disappoint the crowd in the city as he would get the ball with 5 seconds left he would dribble jab step and pull up for the 18-footer giving the Wizards a 2-point lead with 3 seconds left. While his stat-line of only 26 points didn’t seem to impressive in Jordan stats, a 38-year old in the NBA still playing better than 85% of the league was definitely not unnoticed especially with the impressive game winning shot above.
