With the second wave of free agency dominos now dropping following the news of Kevin Durant leaving Oklahoma City to head to Golden State, the San Antonio Spurs are the first team to make moves.
With rumors of Tim Duncan possibly retiring, free agent Pau Gasol will now become the newest addition to the Gregg Popovich squad, filling out the front court regardless of what happens with their Hall of Fame power forward. Reports are saying Gasol will sign a 2-year, $30 million deal with a player option on the second year.
With teams like the Portland Trail Blazers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Toronto Raptors as potential destinations, the thought of Gasol playing alongside LaMarcus Aldridge, Kawhi Leonard, Tony Parker and company is too much of a temptation to pass up. While the Spurs may not be stacked like the Warriors now, the tried and true system Coach Pop has implemented can still make it a headache for any team on the path to the finals in the Western Conference.

Though the Chicago Bulls missed the playoffs in the Eastern Conference, Pau still averaged a double-double, finishing the season with 16.5 points and 11.0 rebounds.
After many days of a lot of thinking, I've decided to join the @spurs!Looking forward to this new chapter with the best aspirations!
