Injury woes for the aging Brooklyn Nets squad continue, now that Paul Pierce has been declared out for about 2-4 weeks with a nondisplaced fracture of the third metacarpal in his shooting hand. The injury is another in a long list for the team, that includes major factors like Deron Williams, Andrei Kirilenko and Jason Terry.

It is speculated that Pierce injured his hand in the first half of the Nets loss to Houston on Friday, around the time that head coach Jason Kidd benched four of his starters. As a result, Pierce will not play against his old team, the Celtics, next Tuesday.

The Brooklyn Nets have started the season at a disappointing 5-12 and have lost 10 of their last 13 games in season riddled with injuries and lack of team chemistry.
