Pelicans Contain Thunder in Kevin Durant’s Return

The Oklahoma City Thunder started their season (17 games to be exact) without their star player Kevin Durant, who suffered a fractured right foot during the offseason. Then they lost Russell Westbrook for about a month, so things haven’t started off so great for them. The team has only managed to win 5 games throughout the course of that span.

On Tuesday night, a glimmer of hope emerged when KD took the court. He showed no signs of rust either, draining his first jumpshot, which happened to be an open 3-pointer.

Durant managed to knock down 27 points in only 30 minutes of play, yet it wasn’t enough to take home the win. OKC’s other star, Westbrook, ended with 21 points of his own, but the efforts of Tyreke Evans (30 points) and Anthony Davis (25 points, 10 rebounds) proved too much for the Thunder.

Oklahoma City can change their misfortune on Friday, when they play the winless Philadelphia 76ers on the road.
