Just do it Commissioner Rob Manfred!
Since the MLB appointed Rob Manfred as their first commissioner in over 23 years after Bud Selig, he’s looking to bring new light to America’s pastime. While the sport has lost significant interest among the youths and angering a few players during spring training with rule changing, Rob’s looking to do a few things Selig avoided for three decades. At the age of 73, Rose still holds the league’s all-time records for most hits with 4,256 and has now formally sent the commissioner a letter to hopefully be reinstated. In 1991, the Baseball Hall of Fame voted to never allow a person permanently ineligible to be placed into any type of ballot voting.
After admitting to accusations of betting on MLB games when he was playing for and coaching the Cincinnati Reds (we’re still lost at what’s wrong here), he received good grade from fans and media.
“I do have a formal request from Pete and I intend to communicate with his representatives to talk about how to handle [the review process]. I want to understand details of the Dowd report and [then-Commissioner Bart] Giamatti’s decision and hear what Pete has to say and make a decision once I’ve done that.”
