Don’t do it Peyton
There is no questioning that Peyton Manning is one of the greatest quarterbacks we’ve seen play the game of football this generation and is a shoe in for the Hall of Fame. But his play dating back to last season has been anything but stellar. As a matter of fact, the last game he played was completely atrocious.
The Denver Broncos are at a crossroads right now: stick with Manning when he gets healthy and hope he finds his old self or try to find out what they have with Brock Osweiler before starting from scratch at QB and looking towards the draft.
Either way, Mike Florio said on NBC Sunday Night Football that Manning intends to play next season, even if that means that it’s not in a Broncos jersey. Tony Dungy was quick to diffuse the bombshell report saying he had not heard that yet, but it’s interesting nonetheless.
As far as facts, Coach Gary Kubiak has come out and said Osweiler will be the starting quarterback for Denver in their upcoming match with the red-hot and undefeated New England Patriots, so that should prove enough to the organization if they should keep rolling with Brock in the short term or wait for Peyton to get healthy and back in action.
