He’s Not Leaving Green But An Eagle Has Landed In Philly.
Less than 10 days after announcing he was foregoing an NFL gig to stay in the collegiate level, Chip Kelly has had a recent change of heart with money always being a factor but also more power control and leverage heading into his new situation with the Eagles. Personally speaking, I expect LeSean McCoy to have a resurgence as an elite level running back under Kelly as the current constructed offensive roster will excel next season.
“Chip Kelly will be an outstanding head coach for the Eagles,” Eagles owner Jeff Lurie said in a statement released by the team. “He has a brilliant football mind. He motivates his team with his actions as well as his words. He will be a great leader for us and will bring a fresh energetic approach to our team.”
The Eagles were to be believed to have interviewed up to 11 coaches recently after the firing of Andy Reid one of which including Chip Kelly who turned down the offer two weeks ago but had a recent “change of heart” today as he officially inked a deal with the Eagles. Many are calling the move stunning but the Eagles will now be one of the most talked about teams heading into the 2013 season as now the list of newly NFL “offensive-minded” coaches now totals up to six.
The NFL is officially on notice as the loyal Eagles fan return to pop their usual shit in the off-season with the run-game returning to Philadelphia.
