Philadelphia Eagles To Sign Frank Gore and Byron Maxwell

Super Bowl XLVII

Eagles are loading up

After spending 10 years with the San Francisco 49ers, running back Frank Gore is moving on and headed to Philadelphia to sign with the Eagles on a deal worth $7.5 million over 3 years. The Eagles had a hole in their backfield after sending LeSean McCoy to the Buffalo Bills in a trade for Kiko Alonso. Gore will now be the starter heading into the new season.

The moves only continued for Philadelphia, though.

Seattle Seahawks corner back Byron Maxwell is also changing scenery, telling the team that he will sign with the Eagles when free agency starts on Tuesday. The Seahawks were making a last minute push to re-sign Maxwell, but the Eagles are offering over $50 million dollars and he’ll be the main corner back in Philadelphia. He played opposite Richard Sherman over in Seattle, but after releasing Cary Williams last week, the Eagles had a big hole to fill at the position this offseason.

With the moves Philly is making, the only one to keep watching out for is whether they will trade up to snag Marcus Mariota in the upcoming NFL Draft.
