Pittsburg Steelers To Re-Sign Plaxico Burress

After having an impressive season with the Jets of Joisey last year, free agent wide-out Plaxico Burress will soon be returning home to Pittsburgh today when the Steelers officially re-sign him. The Steelers have been the victim of having many injuries this year as their star QB Ben Roethlisberger will be out for the next 3 weeks rib and shoulder and now backup QB Byron Leftwich out this Sunday with a rib injury of his own after taking a vicious hit Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.

Plaxico practiced for the team in a tryout over the weekend which many said he looked in great shape after not playing a single a single snap this year. With both Antonio Brown and Jerricho Cotchery being out for an unspecified amount of time, it was a no brainer to sign their former first round pick once again. Last year, the Steelers offered him a two-year deal which he would turn down to play for the Jets substantially less, but will now have another chance in the “Black & Yellow” once more.

Even though the Steelers are in trouble now at 6-4 not winning their division, they still have a legitimate shot at making the playoffs and could be a potential threat to every team in the playoffs with their upcoming schedule looking pretty favorable. The NFL will definitely be in trouble if this team finally gets healthy by January.
