Predicting The Landing Spots For Top Prospects in NFL Free Agency

Byron Maxwell, CB

The Legion of Boom is without a doubt one of the strongest secondaries in the NFL, and one of the less heralded heroes of the group is Byron Maxwell. He’s a young guy who was thrown into the lion’s den after the departure of Brandon Browner in free agency last year, and played very well in the spotlight. Considering most teams wouldn’t throw towards Richard Sherman, Maxwell was being targeted a large portion of the season. He came in and took on a workload that would crumble many guys in his position, but he proved strong and maintained a high level of play throughout 2014. He’s a big-bodied corner than can hold his own with most any receiver that the league has to offer. It’s a no-brainer that the ‘Hawks would want to keep him, but they may not be able to match the offer of other teams that will be courting Maxwell. Unless they opt to use the franchise tag, Maxwell is on his way out of Seattle. Watch out for CB-needy teams with fat cap space to make a move on budding defender.

Destination: New York Jets
