Rajon Rondo Gets Standing Ovation In Return To Boston

He also lit shit it up at the Garden

It was a very emotional night for Rajon Rondo as he returned to Boston to face his former team for the first time since being traded to the Dallas Mavericks. The Celtics fans didn’t seem to hold any grudge towards him, because during player introductions, he was cheered on with a warm welcome as a tribute played from the jumbotron afterward.

When the game started, Rondo really stuck it to his old team, lighting up the score with 29 points and 5 assist. He also set career highs in 3-pointers made (5) and first quarter points (15). He arguably had his best day in a Mavericks uniform.

The rest of the Mavs put up some numbers as well. Monta Ellis had 22 points, Dirk Nowitzki scored 17 points of his own and Tyson Chandler brought down 16 rebounds.
