We know you’ve probably already seen the Beats by Dre commercial (great timing, by the way) on TV recently, where Richard Sherman is hounded by reporters after a game and one of them asks him about being labeled a “thug.” Although in the spot we see him put on his headphones and tune everyone out, he couldn’t quite do that in yesterday’s press conference when the question was thrown out there.
When asked, Sherman says it’s the accepted way of saying the n-bomb nowadays and very frustrating for him. He also mentions that because he comes from Compton and Watts, he’s had to fight that certain stigma of being looked at as a gangster, even though he went to Stanford and graduated from there with a degree.
Lowkey, he gave ScHoolboy Q’s album a shout out in the process too.
