Ricky Rubio To Miss 7-8 Weeks With A Severe Ankle Sprain

NBA: Minnesota Timberwolves at Orlando Magic

The young Timberwolves suffer a set back

The Minnesota Timberwolves main distributor, Ricky Rubio, will be out for an extended period of time after suffering a sever ankle sprain in a game against the Orlando Magic Friday night. The play came in the second quarter as he drove to the basket and tweaked his ankle on the way up. He immediately clutched for it and was seen hobbling off the floor and in crutches later on that night. An MRI performed on Saturday revealed the severity of the sprain.

The injury comes just says after Rubio and the Wolves agreed on a four-year, $55 million extension, so this is a major blow to the starting lineup.

Minnesota will now turn to Mo Williams to take over for Rubio in his absence and will rely on Zach Lavine to be a bigger part of the rotation with Andrew Wiggins. It’s time for The Bounce Brothers to show their skills on the court and live up to the name.
