Cano Moves On From East Coast Pinstripes To Join The Seattle Mariners With Third Largest MLB Contract Ever.

Robinson Cano has finally got his 10-year deal after months of playing hardball in the Bronx with the pinstripes for a $300-million dollar contract. The Yankees are rumored to have offered 3-Years and $70 million less than the Mariners finals offer, which has officially put them on the hot seat. Last week, New York signed former Redsox center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury to 7-Year/$153 million dollar deal, which some initially thought would influence Cano to lower his price range but they were wrong.

Thursday night, Cano’s agent JAY Z flew to Seattle last night before a concert in Anaheim today to meet with Mariners top executives after the Yankees only offered them 7-years for over $170 million. The meeting obviously went well, as Robinson now becomes the third highest paid player ever in the history of the MLB. He now equals Albert Pujols Los Angeles Angels deal three years ago that became a bust, and the historic Alex Rodriguez 10-Year/$275 million extension signed during 2007. Cano’s expected to return to Seattle on Sunday, undergo a physical on Monday and formally be introduced to the team by Tuesday morning.
