We know Russell Westbrook is going 200% on every possession and/or game so it’s no surprise to see him go ham on a defensive play. Unfortunately, Corey Joseph was the victim on this particular one.
During the fourth quarter as the Toronto Raptors were trying to pull away with the lead, Joseph made a great move and split the defense. But he didn’t realize Westbrook was coming from the side of the key and timed it perfect for the emphatic block. No Serge Ibaka? No problem.
The Oklahoma City Thunder crowd was loving it, as Russ tried to will his team to a comeback.
The matchup of Wesbrook and DeMar DeRozan was a good one to watch, though. Both went off for 36 points and 37 points, respectively. But only DeRozan got the win.
The Raptors have not quite gotten the respect they deserve in the Eastern Conference (since the Cleveland Cavaliers are all but a shoe-in to make it back to the NBA Finals), but considering how hot the Thunder have started this season, this win definitely puts a stamp on how good the team is in comparison with others in the league.
