Westbrook was not playing at all Sunday night!
Sunday night, the Oklahoma City Thunder were home for a game against the surging Boston Celtics. With Kevin Durant out indefinitely, Russell Westbrook was given the green light until further notice to provide missing scoring his co-captain can’t provide.
Judging by his 5-20 performance with 27 points against Boston, we’re sure he’ll be looking go all out to maintain OKC’s early season positioning. During the opening minutes of the game, Westbrook would bring some energy throughout the Chesapeake Energy Arena, after crossing over Isaiah Thomas and finishing with a thunderous slam – no pun intended.
However, during a post-game interview, Russell was asked about Marcus Smart’s play from the night, who finished with 26 points on 9-for-14 shooting on the floor.
The reporter asked the OKC superstar what did he think of the performance and Westbrook responded with one of the greatest answers imaginable. Take a look at the highlight above and then peep below how Marcus Smart has now become a checklist victim from Westbrook.
