THE WRATH OF RUSS IS ON THE WAY

Ever since Kevin Durant left for the Golden State Warriors, the Oklahoma City Thunder‘s number one priority this offseason was to lock down Russell Westbrook for the future.

There had been speculation around the league that Westbrook wasn’t showing any signs of staying, so the Thunder were scrambling. Many said Russ was inclined to play in Los Angeles (he went to college at UCLA) or New York because of his fashion sense and willingness to further his brand.

All of that talk was pure garbage because when the smoke has cleared, Russ is looking to stay in Oklahoma City and take on the challenge of carrying the team without KD.

We all know for a fact that he has the determination and motivation to completely annihilate the league next season and the ultimate beast will be unleashed with a vengeance.

On the business side of things, Westbrook just got a significant pay raise, agreeing in principle to a 3-year, $85.7 million dollar extension that will have him paid until the 2018-2019 season. The third year of the contract is a player option.

We hope Russ beats his own record for triple-doubles next season (he tied Magic Johnson for most in the past 50 years, with 18) because it’ll only make for great basketball.

The Thunder are a Top 5 team in the Western Conference with demon Westbrook, right?
