Jeff Fisher’s face says it all with Ram’s immediate future likely over after Bradford’s 2nd ACL tear.
Unfortunately for the St. Louis Rams, they would be a guaranteed playoff team in the NFL if they were in any other division than the NFC West. With the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals all emerging as legit NFC Championship contenders, the Rams were looking to finally climb over the hump of making the post-season this January.
Following acquisitions of Kenny Britt as wide receiver and impressive draft moves with Aaron Donald and Greg Robinson, the team was all in the hands of quarterback Sam Bradford. Last night in pre-season game against the Cleveland Browns, Bradford went down in the 1st quarter and showed signs of significant injury after not immediately returning back to his feet.
He would eventually walk of the field, as initial examinations revealed he was okay. After a second look, team doctors would later confirm he would have to miss the entire 2014 season after re-injuring the same knee he injured last season. In 2013, Sam was having a career year before he tore his ACL in week 7 and had to miss the team’s final 9 games.
Fisher: "Unfortunately, I can confirm that we have lost Sam for the year."

St. Louis was planning on using veteran QB, Shaun Hill as a back-up to Bradford, but will now have to look to him until they find a suitable replacement through trade or free agency.
