Joey lost!

Yesterday, San Diego Chargers Owner, Dean Spanos issued a statement to fans of the team, regarding the future of the team. He soon went to reveal that his proposed Measure C plan failed to receive two-thirds majority vote for a new stadium in San Diego, which he said season ticket holders and waiters should have more news in the coming weeks for their next move.

Measure C would’ve cost the city $1.8 billion in expenses, but this latest veto has team management looking to explore other possibilities outside of San Diego. At the moment, many are expecting the Chargers to relocate to Los Angeles this summer and start their 2017 season at the L.A. Coliseum for the next two years until the Rams’ new stadium is complete in 2019.

Prior to the Rams leaving St. Louis, they had a deal in place with the Chargers to share a joint-stadium in Inglewood, but San Diego management were interested in keeping the team home.

Now, it looks like Los Angeles could have two teams in March, with the Oakland Raiders, who were previously linked to town, making a move to Las Vegas.
