Everything coming out of Oklahoma City this past offseason has been involved with either Kevin Durant leaving or what Russell Westbrook thought on that decision. Not to mention their relationship now, how each other feels about playing against each other, etc.
The unsung hero and one who doesn’t get talked about much? Serge Ibaka.
But he made sure to silence the Thunder crowd on Sunday night with his career-high performance. Now that he’s found a new home in Orlando with the Magic, his first game back to OKC was a nail biting thriller. Not only was he taking care of things on the defensive end, but he went off for 31 points against his old team and even hit the game-winning jumper.
Though he hasn’t impressed as much as people would have hoped out in Orlando, he’s still trying to find his groove. If he plays like this for the rest of the year, watch out.
As far as the Thunder, Russell Westbrook ended with another triple double, but it was a losing effort.
