Sterling Gibbs Knocks Down Buzzer-Beater In 64-63 Seton Hall Upset Victory Over Villanova.
Less than 24 hours after their thriller against Butler, Seton Hall continues their now Cinderella story in a shocking upset against Big East Tournament number one ranked Villanova. Heading into NCAA Men’s Division I Tournament beginning next week, NOVA was considered by most to have a lock as a no. 1 seed; but those dreams appear likely all over now.
Traveling across the Hudson River to a sold out crowd at Madison Square Garden, New Joisey Pirates weren’t sought by many to even make it to Friday, but they did the unthinkable today. Led by the front court efforts of Gene Teague and Patrik Auda, Seton Hall would see bench guard Sterling Gibbs hit a step back jumper with time expiring for the victory.
