Shaq is venturing away from his playing days quite gracefully with his acting, role on NBA On TNT and now minority owner of an NBA team. The only thing is, Shaq just bought shares in a team that he once called “The Queens” (audio above). Yes, the same team Shaquille O’Neal terrorized during the early 2000’s when he was with the Los Angeles Lakers, he is now a minority owner of the Sacramento Kings.
The news came in today from the new ownership group, who recently took over the team and have made it possible that they stay in Sacramento. No word yet on what kind of role Shaq will have in the them, but knowing him, it will be a vocal one. Wonder how his “buddy” Kobe feels about this move? Maybe Shaq will recruit Bean to the squad in 2014?

UPDATE: Kings & Demarcus Cousins Close To Extension
“So ‘Dr. O’Neal’ and I are going to have dinner with him on Monday night and Dr. O’Neal is going to spend a couple of days with him and the team. So I’m very, very pleased with everything that I’m seeing.”
