Remember that story months ago revealing NBA players would be wearing nicknames on their jerseys for a few games this year? Well just yesterday, we finally got a glimpse of Ray Allen’s jersey for one of the games, and it of course says J. Shuttlesworth on the back. This is obviously in reference to his character in the classic film He Got Game.
Spike Lee, who directed the film, made the official announcement on his Instagram yesterday and tweeted out the picture above of the jersey. Allen and the Heat will wear these nickname jerseys, when they face the Celtics on January 21; and also against the Brooklyn Nets on March 12 and April 6. Though other players will be also rocking their nicknames on their jerseys, we don’t see anyone’s being more awesome than Ray’s.
