With the ALCS set to kick off tonight in Missouri between the Kansas City Royals and Toronto Blue Jays, one of the things that will be talked about heading into the first game of the series is that unbelievably crazy 7th inning in Game 5 of the ALDS and Jose Bautista‘s bat flip that has now successfully earned him the nickname Joey Bat Flip.

Sports Science is known for breaking down player’s attributes and throw out facts about certain plays throughout sports, but this is one of the most ridiculous pieces they’ve ever done.
They broke down the bat flip after the series clinching 3-run homer by Bautista, giving facts about the bat speed in which it was launched, the height it reached and force is came down on. After watching, we were more confused as to why they would even reach with some of these stats, because most of it made absolutely no sense.
But at the end of the day, we were dying at how stupid it was.
That play should continued to be played over and over throughout the playoffs because it’s officially the most swagged out thing we’ve seen. Instant MLB postseason classic.
