We’re back yet again this week to bring you everything you need to know about this upcoming week of Fantasy Football. Whether week 3 was a successful one for you or not, it is still early in the season and the right waiver pickup could be exactly what your team needs for that extra spark. The waiver wire this week is sprinkled with skill players that could make an immediate impact in games, so before you go off and stress about your matchup this week, take a look at our breakdown to help you out a little bit.

OS REWIND: The Mistakes Of  A First Time Fantasy Football Player

Players To Start

  1. Donnie Avery – Avery has emerged as one of Alex Smith’s favorite targets in Kansas City and should continue to get plenty of looks with most defenses keying in on Dwayne Bowe. Avery should be available in most leagues so if you need a good flex play this week look no further.
  2. Santonio Holmes – Is it 2010 again? Nope but Santonio Holmes is back and looks to be here for good. Geno Smith is finding a nice groove in the offense and Holmes has become one of his favorite deep targets.
  3. Jason Snelling – With Stephen Jackson being out an extended period of time, both Snelling and Jaquizz Rodgers are good plays at RB. Unlike Rodgers, Snelling is available in most leagues and you should try and swiftly pick him up.
  4. Jay Cutler – It may finally be time to give Jay Cutler some credit in Chicago. He and the Bears are off to a great start and giving Jay a shot in your lineup is not that bad of a move as a backup.
  5. Kansas City Chiefs Defense – This is the first time we have advised you to take a defense, but with the way they are playing in KC, this is a must move. They get constant pressure on the QB and force plenty of turnovers. If you have been struggling in this department try and make this move ASAP (if they haven’t been swooped up already).

Players To Sit

  1. Josh Freeman – If by some odd chance you were starting Freeman, it appears his run in Tampa has ended, as Greg Schiano announced that Mike Glennon would be the starting QB.
  2. Maurice Jones Drew – That Jaguars offense is so poor, that it has turned a once elite RB in Drew, into someone you can’t trust on your fantasy roster. Until something changes, Drew might have to ride the pine.
  3. T.Y. Hilton – Coming into this season Hilton was hyped to be Andrew Luck’s go to guy in that offense. With a strong running attack and Reggie Wayne getting all the looks it has been extremely quiet for Hilton.
  4. Kenny Britt – It looks like Britt is on the outs in Tennessee as even the coaches have said that Justin Hunter is going to get some of his reps moving forward. It would be very risky to keep Britt in your starting lineup moving forward.
  5. Lance Moore – That New Orleans Saints offense is one of the best in the league, yet this season Drew Brees hasn’t been getting the ball to Moore at all. Until that trend changes Moore is a risky play even at the flex position. Bench him until further notice

Best Matchup’s Of The Week

  1. Andrew Luck vs. Jacksonville Jaguars – That Colts offense is firing right now so expect for them to let the dogs run loose this weekend vs. the Jaguars. Luck has been one of the more consistent QB’s this year so look for that to continue on Sunday.
  2. Denver Broncos vs. Philadelphia Eagles Defense – This weekend could be a full on feast for the Broncos offense as they go up against a very poor Eagles defense. Peyton will continue to put up insane numbers, but it will just be about who he ends up throwing too.
  3. RGIII vs. Oakland Raiders – For the first time this year we will really see the old RGIII back on Sunday. Going up against a weak Oakland defense that should ensure a big game for him and the Redskins.
  4. Jamaal Charles vs. New York Giants – The Giants are in total disarray right now so look for the Chiefs to feed Charles early and often, especially if they get a lead early.
  5.  Matt Forte vs. Detroit Lions – The Bears have been very consistent this year on offense and that has led to a 3-0 record. Building on that look for Forte to break out this week vs. Detroit.
