We are onto another week of Fantasy Football, which means another week of options on who to have in your starting lineup and to have on your bench. Bye weeks and injuries continue to be a major issue for squads, so that means all of these moves could be very important going into the second half of the season. Not only do major injuries take certain players out of the game, but it can also affect the rest of that team.
Take the Julio Jones situation for instance. When he got hurt, that Falcons offense has struggled and Matt Ryan has not been nearly as effective at all. Folks that picked up Harry Douglas have been winning, though. Or what about injuries to the Packers offense? Aaron Rodgers doesn’t have as many weapons, which has made Jordy Nelson’s stock skyrocket.
Luckily, some players that have been out for a few weeks are looking to make their way back to the starting lineups in the coming weeks, so picking them up will be clutch. We’re breaking down matchups in our sure fire Fantasy ways, below.
Players To Start
- Mike Tolbert – The first player we love this week is Panthers RB Mike Tolbert. Tolbert’s work load has gone up lately for Carolina and that looks to increase with Jonathon Stewart not quite back to the field yet.
- T.Y. Hilton – The post Reggie Wayne era officially starts in Indy this week, so look for Hilton to see a ton of targets. The good news for his owners is that even though defenses might key on him even more, he still has Andrew Luck throwing him the ball.
- Chris Johnson – CJ2K has been on the other side of this list a couple of times this year, but this week we actually love him. Going against a St. Louis team that left everything on the field in their Monday night loss to Seattle will make it easy for CJ to get some yards.
- Keenan Allen – Allen might just be an every game start for the rest of the year. He is easily Phillip Rivers favorite target and will continue to get plenty of looks.
- Jake Locker – Locker is a super sleeper at the QB position, but if you’re in a bind due to injury or a bye week then Locker is a good play. That not so great Rams defense will give Locker plenty of opportunities to put points on the board.
Players To Sit
- Matt Ryan – We mentioned Ryan earlier and it just might be time to sit him down. The Falcons offense just hasn’t been the same since Julio Jones went down with his injury. The good news for Ryan owners is that Roddy White is slated to play this week.
- Trent Richardson – Trent still hasn’t seemed to pick up things in Indy and hasn’t even looked better than backup Donald Brown. Until Trent puts up a good game you might have to have him ride the pine.Especially with Brown getting more touches lately.
- Roy Helu – All of you bandwagon jumpers out there need to get off the Helu train. Yes he did have 3 TD’s two weeks ago, but he followed it up with a weak game. Don’t expect much from him moving forward with Alfred Morris getting the majority of the carries.
- Marques Colston – Is Colston the most talented decoy in the NFL? The main problem for Colston is that Drew Brees is just TOO good and is able to spread it around to a number of targets. Don’t expect to bench Colston for long though, because we’re sure Brees will find him soon.
- Dwayne Bowe – Bowe is another example of a player that has a ton of talent, but just doesn’t get the ball. The Chiefs are a team that really doesn’t look for a vertical passing game so that really limits Bowe’s production.
