Even though the Golden State Warriors have Kevin Durant now, we haven’t heard much about them going 82-0. Some folks out there definitely think they could be the best team in the Western Conference, but to beat their own 73-9 record would be crazy. Especially since they already have two losses under their belt, six games into the season.
After an explosive night from KD and the Warriors against the Oklahoma City Thunder, they had the opposite kind of rhythm at STAPLES Center against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Steph Curry managed to miss every 3-point attempt (0-10) for the first time since November of 2014 and everyone not named Durant couldn’t really get going.
Meanwhile, the baby Lake Show was firing on all cylinders, passing the ball around and finding the open man whenever they could. D’Angelo Russell dropped 17 points, Julius Randle finished with a double-double (20 points and 14 rebounds), Brandon Ingram had 12 points of his own and Lou Williams exploded with 20 points off the bench.
KD led all Warriors scorers with 27 points, but Klay Thompson only managed 10 points on the night, Curry finished with 13 points and Draymond Green had a solid 16 points and 9 rebounds.
The Lakers won’t squeeze into the playoffs at the 8th spot this year, right?
