Continuing with the MVP season
With the San Antonio Spurs suffering a close loss against the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday night, they were looking to bounce back on this West Coast trip, taking on the red-hot Golden State Warriors on Friday night. Kawhi Leonard returned to the lineup after missing games, but that backcourt in Oakland is more than a handful.
They might have ended the first quarter with the lead, but it seemed like the Warriors were just getting warmed up an took over the court from then on out.
Right before half time, with time winding down in the second quarter, Steph Curry dropped a sweet layup on the Spurs, going coast-to-coast after the steal and pulling off a behind-the-back move to split the San Antonio defense. It electrified the crowd and was only a sign of what Golden State had to come in the second half.
The buckets kept coming for Curry, Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala and the rest of the Warriors, putting on the after burners and leaving the Spurs in the dust.
