Curry hits game winner for 10th straight Dub
While the Memphis Grizzlies and Toronto Raptors absorbing much attention this season thus far, the Golden State Warriors have quietly opened up their season with a 15-2 record (tied for best in the league). They were under-the-radar prior to last night, as Stephen Curry gave the NBA one its best highlights in the 2015 season.
Since the firing of Mark Jackson, the team has seen an obvious offensive improvement, largely in part to the best shooting back court in the history of the league. Following Klay Thompson’s big $70 million extension a few weeks ago, Golden State started their season relieved that their core unit would stay in-tact. Last night, the team was home at ORACLE Arena for a meeting against the Orlando Magic.
Victor Oladipo led all scorers with 27 points, showing increased efficiency through his 36 minutes of play – but that wasn’t enough to stop Golden State down the stretch. Down 9 points with only 3 minutes remaining, the Warriors would go on a late rally to overcome the nearly double digit deficit to extend their win-streak to 10 games.
With only 9 seconds left, the team would make a big defensive stop and Curry would immediately pull up from long-range over Tobias Harris to drill a game-winner three-pointer – nothing but net.
