Steve Kerr turns down the #KNICKSTAPE rebuild with old coach for the Bay Area fog.
In a shocking turn of events for New York Knicks fans, Steve Kerr is now out of the running for the vacant coaching position left after the firing of Mike Woodson. Yahoo reports that Kerr is taking his talents to Northern California to fill Mark Jackson’s shoes in Golden State after the Warriors agreed to a 5-year, $25 million dollar deal with him earlier today. Negotiations with Phil Jackson and the Knicks had stalled when they the team resisted giving him a 4-year guaranteed deal then later matching his requests.
It’s your move now New York.
The news comes one day following the Pistons stealing Stan Van Gundy from right under the Warriors’ nose, leaving the team mildly desperate. Although Kerr won’t be groomed from under the watchful eye of Phil Jackson anymore, he enters a better situation in Oakland, with a team a piece or two away from an NBA Championship.
