It was supposed to be a win
After a 2-week hiatus from the squad to perform GM duties (and hit the College Football Playoffs National Championship), LeBron James‘ big return to the Cleveland Cavaliers was set to ignite the team and get them back on the winning track.
Except, the Cavs were back to what they have been doing best: losing.
Flashy dunks, three-pointers and offensive firepower from him and J.R. Smith wasn’t enough to defeat the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night, falling to the Western Conference squad 107-100.
the second half looked like it could go either way, but the Suns kept the game close and made buckets when it counted. King James scored 33 points in his first game back, but had to carry the team on his shoulders like he had before taking weeks off to nurse his sore left foot and back. Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love only had 9 points each, on a poor shooting night that didn’t even see Love play in the 4th quarter. This loss gives drops the Cavs to six straight, after going 1-7 without James.
Markieff Morris scored a career-high 35 points, with Goran Dragic dropping 18 points of his own in the Suns win at home. They have won 11 out of their last 15 games.
