Teddy Bridgewater’s “Moment Of Arrival”

The future of Minnesota

Teddy Bridgewater might be nursing an injured ankle for the Minnesota Vikings right now, but he’s already made a splash in the NFL out of the gate. Filling in for Matt Cassel, who broke several bones in his toe in Week 3, Teddy has showed confidence in the games played and although they did not win that first matchup against the New Orleans Saints, he ended with a respectable effort. The very next week, he led the Vikings to victory over the Atlanta Falcons in a thriller.

For GQ’s “Moment of Arrival” series, Bridgewater visits his Miami Dade high school and recalls the first time he ever played quarterback in his freshman year. His team was losing so bad, his coach put him in after the crowd was clamoring his name and he mentions the fact that the moment changed his life forever. He also stopped by his grandmother’s house in Miami Gardens and explained how his NFL Draft experience went and what it means for his family to have made it.

Now he has gone from Florida to Minnesota to be the franchise quarterback the Vikings have been needing for years. Check out a bit of Teddy Bridgewater’s journey above.
