We smell a big ass lawsuit, b!
A little over 24 hours ago, Indiana Pacers forward Chris Copeland was in New York City for to meet up with a few of former teammates from the Knicks and around the city. While the Chelsea party originally intended to be drama free, Copeland would see an unfortunate attack alongside his girlfriend from an unknown man just outside the meatpacking district club. With both parties stabbed during the altercation (non-life-threatening), local authorities were rushed to the popular 1Oak hotspot in lower Manhattan to see the bloody scene.
Atlanta Hawks players, Thabo Sefolosha and Pero Antic, were in attendance at the party and went to check on their friend. After allegedly ignoring authorities to leave the crime scenes when they were trying to see if Copeland was okay, both were immediately arrested. Unfortunately, Sefolosha suffered the biggest injury, with a fractured tibia during his arrest from NYPD. Sefolosha, seen leaving the courthouse earlier today, had a notable limp in his walking and has now been ruled out to miss the remainder of the 2015 season – including the playoffs.
The Atlanta Hawks finished with the number one overall seed in the eastern conference and open their post-season at home next weekend against the 8th seed. This is an obvious huge blow to the team, who needed Sefolosha’s contributions off the bench from a defensive stand point go help Kyle Korver on the wing.
